Vaccination Passports: To be or not to be in Florida

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued and executive order prohibiting the state from issuing vaccine passports. He said “it’s completely unacceptable for either the government or the private sector to impose upon you the requirement that you show proof of vaccination”. Also, “the legislature is working on making these protections for Floridians permanent and he is looking forward to signing them into law.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) signed landmark legislation banning the use of vaccine passports in Florida via the Senate Bill (SB) 2006, this will help guard against overreach from the state or local governments.

State Rep. Tom Leek said: “the bill as striking an appropriate balance between protecting one’s safety and one’s personal liberty”. This is a strategy DeSantis has stuck with through the Corona virus pandemic even though he received much criticism from the media and other partisan political forums. DeSantis said at an event in St. Petersburg Monday May 3, 2021: I think it’s the evidence-based thing to do.

In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania vaccine passports are being developed to verify Covid-19 immunizations status that will allow people that are vaccinated to have more freedom to travel, shop, dine, etc.. this is a large point. Governor Cuomo in New York is calling it “Excelsior Pass”.

Canada is going to require Corona virus vaccines for international travel per the country’s Health Minister Patty Hajdu. “They feel they have a head start in terms of entry into Canada. They have and app called Arrive Can that allows for digital proof of the Chinese corona-virus testing and other documents people will have to submit to enter Canada.”

Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs also introduces a no vaccine passport act, which would keep federal agencies from issuing any standardized documentation on a citizen’s corona-virus vaccination status.

Governor Kim Reynolds in Iowa also said they would take action against the vaccination passports. There are others as well.

Some States are standing up for our constitutional rights on this and others are embracing it as if it were not an infringement of our constitutional rights.

I think the Vaccination Passports are ridiculous and a huge governmental overreach. They are a total infringement of our constitutional rights and should never be allowed for any reason. I definitely do not think they should determine who can go where, who can shop, or anything else.

I can only hope and pray that all States will take action against them.
