Michael Moore: Christians are comparable to Taliban “They’re religious nuts”

Michael Moore the far-left democratic filmmaker has compared Christian conservatives to the Taliban. In an interview with Variety he expressed his concerns about the Taliban stripping away the rights of women. Then he went on to assert that the U.S. has a problem with religious fundamentalists i.e. Christians.

In response to the fact that the Taliban will be operating under the restrictive Islamic law. Moore said, “That’s exactly how a lot of Southern Baptists want it to be here too. In a lot of parts of the country, we are following dictates of conservative Christians. It’s wrong there and it’s wrong here.”

Many are puzzled at the comparison and asking Moore to justify such an egregious accusation. Since the Taliban which is known for killing opponents, using aggressive tactics, and persecuting Christians.

a contact of one Release International partner said, “Our brothers and sisters in Christ are telling us how afraid they are,” and talked about the fact how girls are not eve allowed to go to school or women not allowed to leave their homes without male companionship. As opposed to the US where women are able to work, go to school, and live incredible live all of which is championed by the freedoms found in Christian ideology and theology.

Moore is far from the first leftist to baselessly compare American Christians to the Taliban terrorists. Senior pundits at MSNBC, including Joy Reid.– who said America has “our own far religious right” that is “dreaming of a theocracy that would impose a particular brand of Christianity” on American society — have done the same:

Such assertions by Moore and other of extreme anti-Christian bigotry, completely misrepresents and mis categorizes the faith of so many Catholics and protestants in the U.S. who enjoy incredible freedoms built on the Judeo-Christian principles.
