Joe Biden: Most Lethal Threat Facing the United States “White Supremacy” Is it?

Joe Biden has not retracted and even doubled down on his past statement that “White people are a threat to America” simply because of the color of their skin.

You may recall that last year during a speech in Tulsa Biden spoke about the threat of white supremacy being the most lethal threat facing this nation.

Biden said during his speech, “According to the intelligence community, terrorism from white supremacy is the most lethal threat to the homeland today.” Biden went on to say, “Not ISIS. Not Al Qaeda. White supremacists.”
Biden was probably referring to the words of acting U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, who told members of congress that white supremacy was quote; “the most persistent and lethal threat” to the United States in September 2020. In October of 2020, DHS released a report claiming that white supremacist extremism accounted for more fatal attacks than any other domestic violent extremist group since 2018.

Is white supremacy really the most “lethal threat” facing our nation? While no one would deny that any extremism from the violent protests we have seen with BLM and the billions in property damage associated with them to radical white supremacists are terrible and should be denounced. Does the evidence support Biden’s claim?
In the Homeland security report, it said of 2019, “VEs perpetrated 16 attacks, killing 48, whereas HVEs (home grown violent extremists) conducted 5 attacks and killed 1 person. Among DVE (domestic violent extremists) actors, WSE (white supremacist extremists) conducted half of all lethal attacks (8 of 16), resulting in the majority of deaths (39 of 48).” The report also says, “We are still evaluating data for incidents occurring in 2020.” Meaning the race riots, BLM, Antifa which is not mentioned once in the report is not factored in the equation.

While 39 deaths are terrible and let me be clear as someone who believes every life is precious and all lives matter, but is it justifiable to say that this means it is the worst “threat” facing our nation?
There are roughly around 15,500 murders each year in the United States. On average of those 15,500 there are 2,000 gang related murders alone according to a study at the National Youth Gang Center that looked at homicides from 2007 to 2012.

When looking simply at race white on white and black on black murder rates are statistically close, when looking at the perpetrators race (i.e., race on race). For instance, according to FBI data for 2019 of the 3,299 homicide victims who were white the crime was perpetrated by predominantly white perpetrators 78%. Same can be said of black-on-black crime of the 2,906 blacks killed in 2019 according to FBI data 88% of those homicides were perpetrated by other African Americans. When we look at the same data for the across racial segmented line to a possibly race-related perspective. White on Black crime accounts for only 8% of those homicides

During 2020 we know we saw incredible uptick in murder rates in Democratically controlled cities. In 2015 during the first BLM era, we saw a 12.1% increase in murder rates associated with the first BLM riots. As more data is released for 2020, we have seen an uptick in murder rates in 19 cities some dubbing it the “Minneapolis Effect” noting homicides rose as high as 30% by the end of the third quarter “cumulatively” in 2020. That is the worst increase in over 60 years at a time when most of the country was locked down and most of the people that were out in droves were the BLM protesters.

Some might say, “If we look at more data; that will show a greater threat from white supremacy.” So, lets do that. From 2000 to 2016 white supremacist were responsible according to FBI data 26 attack resulting in 49 homicides for that entire time period. While every homicide is terrible and whether a gang member or white supremacist both should be prosecuted and jailed. Over that same time gang related homicides would have been 32,000 not including 2018-2019.
No! The claim that they are the greatest “lethal threat” to this country has no basis in fact. As a matter of fact, while they are “a” threat gangs themselves statistically according to the murder rates are far more dangerous.
