Gov. DeSantis once again standing up for the rights of parents and he is not backing down. The governor just signed into law HB 1557 which will go into effect in July.
The legislation states that “classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.”
Parents will be able to sue districts over violations.

The measure has branded by the mainstream media and Hollywood as the “Don’t Say Gay” bill which is not only a misnomer but an outright lie.
The bill does two main things one it puts the power of educating children back into the parents hands and second it says students in grade school cannot be indoctrinated with gender identity theories. One things it does not do, is it doesn’t ban the word gay or any derivation of it at all.
Gov. DeSantis said, “We will continue to recognize that in the state of Florida, parents have a fundamental role in the education, health care and well-being of their children. We will not move from that,”
