According to the Washington Post house democrats believe that there is a real possibility that there could be a turnover in leadership next year in the midterm election. The publication goes on to say
“After almost 19 years as House Democratic leader, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) is expected to step down at the close of this Congress, ending a historic career that included trying to end George W. Bush’s Iraq War, implementing President Barack Obama’s signature health-care law, impeaching President Donald Trump twice and squeezing President Biden’s sweeping agenda through a narrowly controlled House.”
Democrats have said they want to find someone to replace Nancy Pelosi that exerts both strength and decision making power the of this seasoned politician.
The post went on to say that not only is there trouble brewing because of the liberal left policies that are greatly unpopular with voters such as Covid mandates, policies that have caused hyperinflation, the rapid disintegration of our military image, and the lack of confidence in our economy, but there is also the problem of race.
According to the post the democratic party’s other problem is all the “White men who are mulling a run” which according to many on the left and the post represents the “old guard” and apparently must be disbanded with. Their very whiteness apparently “disqualifies” them from the position and party should look for more diversity.
As democratic representative Joyce Beatty (D-OH) said, selecting a “non-white” member apparently regardless of their qualifications to replace the 81 year old Pelosi is a “priority.”
