Biden Keeps Promise to Reverse Trumps Protections for Unborn Children

While politicians promise a lot of things many politicians so many times fall short of those promises, and while Biden has fallen short on many of his promises one promise he is working hard to keep and has taken executive action to make sure is kept is quote Biden will “reverse Trump actions on abortion and reproductive health care, including reversing the Mexico City Policy, restoring funding to Planned Parenthood and contraceptive coverage under the ACA.”

The Mexico city policy which was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan in 1984 is the policy that says as a nation we will not be a part of the en masse murder of children. The policy requires non-foreign governmental organizations to ensure that they will not use U.S. taxpayer dollars to “perform or actively promote abortions as a method of family planning.”

Democrats have had a history of opposing the policy such as Bidens democratic predecessors such as Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, who both rescinded the policy at the start of their first terms.

While on the other side of the coin Republican presidents have had a history of reinstating both the Mexico city policy when they took office such as George W. Bush and Trump and standing firm in their protections for the unborn.

Trump even went as far as expanding the policy to apply to all contracts and subcontracts that provide global health funding. Since according to the Kaiser Family Foundation 40 percent of global health funding in recent years is provided through contractual agreements. The Trump administration introduced the “Protect Life” rule which banned the use of funds to perform, promote, refer for, support abortion as a method of family planning.”

Planned Parenthood would not comply with such a rule and at the time withdrew from the Title X program. Since in reality, the policy, dubbed the Protect Life Rule, required all Title X providers to financially separate their abortion business from the rest of their work, with the aim of preventing taxpayer funding from underwriting abortion. That way taxpayers who religiously or morally objected to their taxpayer dollars funding abortions would not have them used for the murder of unborn children. Planned Parenthood declined to financially separate its other business from its provision of abortion — an unsurprising choice, considering that the group makes the bulk of its money from abortion procedures — and therefore voluntarily opted out of Title X.

Well Biden so far is keeping in lockstep with his democratic predecessors has reversed those protections for the unborn. Biden’s presidential memorandum on abortion immediately rescinds the Mexico City policy, It also direct the Department of Health and Human Services to take an immediate look into undoing the policy. By leaving the program Planned Parenthood forfeited about $60 million annually. This is small compared to the nearly half a billion that they receive from Medicaid reimbursements.

Coincidentally Biden’s has signed executive orders opening Obama Care exchanges back up as well as wanting to expand Medicaid. Biden is also looking to reinstate the tax penalty of the affordable care act making it a punishable offense not having or being able to have insurance forcing people either to Obama Care or to pay the government when they are not able to get it. While this portion was dismantled in Trumps tax cuts; Biden is hoping to pass his own tax overhaul raising the taxes on businesses, capital gains, and certain individuals while at the same time reinstating the penalty for all people regardless of income if they do not have insurance.

Biden said of the executive orders and on his openly anti-life policies. “There’s nothing new that we’re doing here…” Biden also said, “The best way to describe them, is to undo the damage Trump has done.”

So, one promise Biden has kept is he has begun to undo the “damage” or what is perceived as damage in Biden’s eyes of protecting life and valuing God’s creation. So, Biden is right, there is nothing new but the same anti-life, pro-abortion, and penalizing policies we have seen from other democratic presidents. Who claim to be pro-life in their personal lives yet in their actions condone, promote, and force taxpayers to fund abortions.
